Reflections: Lead Coach [Ameeta K]
Planning as well as implementation of project “Rejuvenating Ecosystem” was challenging becos’ of my new posting at the present KV & maiden attempt of my students to take up the Project .
Well , at the beginning they used to get disappointed when responses from schoolmates were not on expected lines , but instead of counseling the other students , I told them to refine their approach to get the desired response & gradually they planned their activities accordingly , when their schoolmates were free as well as willing to listen to them.
I saw them interacting with students before assembly & during lunch break . Gradually they succeeded in getting the desired response sticking to the ground rule that students were not to be disturbed during teaching periods. With each upcoming event their enthusiasm was quite infectious since I saw my lab becoming the creative hub of multiple activities & team Saviours donning the director’s cap.
In true spirit of project based learning the objective was achieved when they developed a sense of belongingness .
There were times when they confronted speed bumps to carry out project activities with such an expertise that filled me with a sense of pride & I could say that at times my students couldbecome my teachers.
They are now famously known as “The Saviours “ & this generates a sense of responsibility in them & they pledged to do whatever they could to change the mind sets of not only schoolmates but community members as well .
The sincerity of The Saviours to solve issues with respect to the serious concern of present era where human activities are disturbing the balance of ecosystem was further catalysed when our worthy Deputy Commissioner KVS , RO Chandigarh Region applauded their efforts & felicitated them.
My sincere gratitude to Chief Patron & principal “Mrs. Daljit Kaur “ for her non wavering support to make this project achieve its objectives.
Working on this project gave them wings to realize their potential so that they will become stake holders in the prosperity of our country.
